JOHNSON & NIELSEN ASSOCIATES

        The Structural Engineering experience of the principals of Johnson & Nielsen Associates in private consulting practice extends back to the year 1947.  At the present time, there are eight principals and owners of the firm, which operates out of three locations in California.  The main office and corporate headquarters are located in Monrovia.  Additional offices are located in Riverside established in 1956, and Irvine established in 1973.  Each office is operated as a separate entity with a managing principal, chief draftsman and complete production staff.  However, the individual offices have access to the experience, expertise and other resources of the entire firm.  This organization has allowed Johnson & Nielsen Associates to provide effective and personal attention to all projects by an owner-principal and to offer a full range of engineering services to their clients.

        Over sixty years of private engineering practice has enabled Johnson & Nielsen Associates to develop expertise in the many facets of structural engineering.  Their project experience has given them the capacity of handling a wide variety of project types and sizes.  This versatility is reflected in their experience with all of the construction materials and building types in use in the building industry, and also in their experience in the development and use of many special structural systems involving prefabricated building elements, precast, prestressed and tilt-up concrete, concrete shell and folded plate structures, lift slabs, high strength cable tension structures, space frames, and fabric structures.
